The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly close to finalising a landmark deal to sell the naming rights of Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium to the Bank of Punjab.

According to local media reports, the agreement will see the stadium rebranded to reflect the bank’s identity for the next five years.

This move is part of PCB’s ongoing efforts to boost revenue through strategic commercial partnerships, aligning with global trends where sports venues partner with major corporations for mutual benefits.

The rebranding of Gaddafi Stadium follows a similar initiative in 2022, when the National Stadium in Karachi was renamed National Bank Cricket Arena, and later National Bank Stadium, after a five-year deal with the National Bank of Pakistan.

The sale of naming rights is expected to provide a significant financial boost to PCB, helping to advance cricket development across the country.

The deal represents another step in PCB’s broader strategy to capitalise on commercial opportunities within the sport.
