The Colorado Buffaloes’ 49-24 win over the Utah Utes on Saturday was extra special.
Earlier this year, Deion Sanders promised Buffaloes superfan Peggy Coppom he’d get the team to a bowl game in her honor. He fulfilled that promise with Colorado’s sixth win in late October, and each subsequent victory has only sweetened the deal.
Coppom, who turned 100 years old Saturday, was in attendance at Folsom Field this weekend, and she received one more gift for her centennial: the entire crowd serenading her with “Happy Birthday.”
“Miss Peggy” has attended Buffaloes games since the 1940s and developed a friendship with Sanders during the 2023 season.
